Sketches

Here are some sketches from my sketchbooks, most of which are done in watercolour with some additional work in pen ank ink. The first twelve are from sketchbooks I filled on a recent stay in Hoy, Orkney and the rest feature Argyll locations. Many of them were the inspiration for finished paintings which sometimes looked very different from the original sketch.
