Paintings
My work is inspired by the landscapes of Scotland from the dramatic mountains and rugged coastline to the sheltered walks of our surviving native woodlands. Working in a range of media, I try to capture the colours and moods of the changing seasons; the fresh tints of spring, the saturated colours of summer, the blazing ambers and golds of autumn, and winter’s subtle palette of greys and ochres.
I live in the tiny village of Ford in Mid Argyll and on every trip to the coast, or out to the islands, or along the crinan canal, or up into the mountains I always pack my sketchbook, watercolours and camera, hoping to capture something I can develop later back in the studio. If all goes well the energy and immediacy of the quick sketch will be translated into the finished work. The paintings below nearly all feature Argyll locations.
All paintings are for sale, unless marked as sold or with a gallery. Prices range from £300 to £1,000. Enquiries through Contact Me.
